Debra Curry

As the Director of Investment Strategies, Debra implements her research and strategy expertise with clients. In addition, she is a member of the Investment Committee that defines the investment selections for the firm. Along with her objective to assist clients in navigating the complexities of their wealth, she developed a niche market with women, and founded an educational series— Empowered Ladies of Orange County. Her mission is to educate and entertain women about financial topics that are important to them and their success, while including a charitable component.
Establishing and strengthening relationships to build communities and businesses is what Debra Curry does best. With more than 25 years of progressive leadership and achievements in the financial services industry, she understands the big picture and its assumptions—it’s in the people and the puzzle where her curiosity and interest are piqued. Debra’s success is rooted in her ability to connect with her clients—identifying and understanding their problems and/or challenges—and within the framework of the financial-planning lifecycle, her talent for designing solutions to fix them. She has earned a reputation as an authentic leader and educator—as witnessed by her loyal clientele and word-of-mouth referral business.
Professional Experience
Debra credits her success and solid track record of client service to her early career experience and training at Merrill Lynch. After completing the firm’s prestigious Practice Management Development program, she soon achieved the rank of “Top 20 percent” among her peers nationwide. When asked to assist the firm in building a clientele in its Newport Beach office, she started from scratch and built a book of business by taking a customer-centric approach—identifying pain points, and educating prospective clients on opportunities to match financial solutions—thus improving their financial results, while addressing key concerns.
Debra’s leadership also extends to her own community, where she is highly active. She volunteers as the president of the California Parkinson’s Group Foundation (CPG)—which serves to support educational and social activities for the Early Onset Parkinson’s community in Orange County, and at large through the CPG support network. She’s also a member of the Financial Planning Association; volunteers as a member of Smart Women supporting Working Wardrobes—a nonprofit organization that supports women, men, and youths re-entering the workforce; and of course is an active participant in the Booster Clubs for activities for her kids.
Originally from Denver, Debra now lives in North Tustin, California with her husband Tim and two children, Rachel and Adam. She is active and supportive in the lives of her children, and if there is leisure time, Debra enjoys movies, theater, and traveling.
